HP LASER PRINTER ERRORS
|
ERROR |
DESCRIPTION |
|
Error 02 Warming Up |
Turn
the printer off. Unplug the print cable from the rear of the printer. Turn
on the printer. If the printer error remains you need to have the formatter
board replaced. If the printer goes to ready you could have a corrupt
printer driver, a bad printer cable or I/O port in the computer. |
|
Error 11 Paper Out |
Check
the paper tray for correct installation of paper and that the tray is seated
properly. Make sure guide plates are properly set for the paper size in the
cassette. Some cassettes have tabs that activate switches to tell the
machine the correct size paper is loaded. Look for broken tabs or bent
parts. If the problem persists you have a defective Paper Control Sensor
Board. |
Error 12 Printer Open no EP Cartridge
|
Make
sure the toner cartridge is completely seated in the machine. Check that
the top cover is firmly closed. In HP Series II/III printers this error
code is usually caused by a defective DC Power Supply. On HP IIP/IIP+/IIIP
printers it is caused by a defective Density Adjusting PCA. It could be
caused by a defective exhaust fan. Check to see if you can feel the fan
working on the left front side of the machine. |
Error 13.XX Paper Jam
|
Look
for paper not feeding from the cassette. Check the pick up roller. If
it looks worn replace it. If it looks dirty you can clean it with an
alcohol wipe. If paper jams at the registration assembly look for torn bits
of paper, gum labels. etc. Make sure feed rollers are clean. Third
possibility is paper jams at exit. Many exit jams are caused by worn gears
in the fuser assembly. If the paper makes it though the fuser and starts to
accordion as it exits the machine, you need to replace the exit rollers.
Check to see if the rear door is closed securely. |
|
Error 14 No EP Cartridge |
Make
sure the toner cartridge is installed and fully seated in the machine. Look
for broken tabs on the toner cartridge. |
|
Error 16 Toner Low |
Toner
cartridge is running out of toner. Remove the cartridge and shake it back
and forth a few times. Sometimes knocking on the cartridge with the handle
of a screwdriver will dislodge caked toner if the machine has been out of
service for a long time. |
